Runner will take an imaginary swing from the side of the plate they would normally hit from. |

Once a player realizes they have a sure hit they will pick a point about 5 feet to the right of first base and head directly at it. |

As the runner gets about 3/4 the way to first base they will begin to turn as if heading to second base. |

The runner will round the bag being sure to step on the inside corner. |

The runner will listen to the first base coach or pick up the location of the ball to determine whether to go to second base or not. |

If the runner can't advance they will hockey stop while taking as big of turn as possible so they could safely return to the bag if a throw is made. |

7. |
Be sure the runner's keep their eye on the ball the entire time once the step on first. |
